Amazing Grace

“And he came to her and said, Hail, O favored one [endued with grace]! The Lord is with you!” Luke 1:28
God’s call on Mary’s life rises from the depths of grace and is the foundation of her purpose. She can begin at no other place than this for the work God has chosen for her. Prophecies down through the ages are about to be fulfilled in a humble virgin’s body. She is immediately ushered into a new dimension with the certainty of God’s abiding presence. She could not glory in her position, nor claim one good work that put her there. Her only work is obedient faith. She opens the door of her womb for the Son of God to enter and be clothed with humanity. Praise God, Hallelujah to the Mighty God and King!
Our call and purpose begin in the same place: grace. “For it is by free grace [God’s unmerited favor] that you are saved (delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation) through your faith. And this is not of your own doing and it came not through your own striving, but it is the gift of God”. Ephesians 2:8. There is no work that could ever give us so great a salvation. Within that salvation, we find the purpose for which God has called each one of us. It is by a simple act of faith that we enter into His presence as sons and daughters to live the abundant life He has planned. Praise Him always.
“For we are God’s own handiwork [His workmanship], created in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined [planned beforehand] for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged for us to live].” Ephesians 2:10
